The Hotel Diana and the Dépendance are situated in the historical centre of Lucca, an area that is easily reached from the city's main points of entry. The railway station is 5 minutes away on foot, the bus terminal is only 800 metres away, and the motorway exit is 2 km away.
The following are directions for reaching the Hotel.
1)From the A11 Firenze-Mare motorway, exit at Lucca. Keeping in the right-hand lane, continue along Viale Europa in the direction of the railway station. After the first traffic light and after crossing the railway overpass, turn right onto Viale Carducci (the city walls are on your left). Continue along this road until you reach the railway station (Piazza Ricasoli). At this point, the city walls will be in front of you. Turn left onto Viale Regina Margherita. After 200 metres, turn right through the Porta S. Pietro gate. Follow the road to the right, inside the walls. After about 150 metres, turn left onto Corso Garibaldi. The first road on the right is Via del Molinetto, where you will find the Hotel.
2)From the A12 motorway, exit at Lucca. Continue straight until you reach the motorway link road. Turn left onto Viale Europa (McDonald's is on your right) then follow the directions in point 1).
If you come from any other direction, the point of reference is Porta S. Pietro, the name of one of the gates in the south of the city which lead to the centre and which is close to the railway station. From there, follow the directions given above.
Remember that the green road signs indicate motorways, whereas the blue road signs indicate main roads.
Information about parking: inside the city walls, car parks are either on payment (the stalls are marked with blue lines) or they are for residents only (these are marked with yellow lines). Parking is not allowed in the yellow stalls as these are for residents and a permit is required. Outside the walls, the situation is the same for the blue and yellow stalls, but there are also white stalls which are free for an unlimited time or for a limited time (e.g. 1 hour).
The areas, stalls, spaces reserved for the disabled can be used by anyone (from Italy or abroad) who displays the special permit.
